Ghost Rider 2 Spirit of Vengeance in 3D hits theatres on 17th February

The burning skull is back and this time in 3D, the sequel to the rather unsuccessful 2007 movie Ghost Rider is set to release on Friday and going by the flashy trailers it is set to be a visual delight if nothing else. Nicholas cage retains his role as Johnny Blaze, the stunt super star who due to the curse of Devil turns/burns himself during night and zooming around in his bike punishes all the Evil people. Now most of us were really left disappointed after the hype created around it’s predecessor failed to materialize, it was panned by critics and up to a certain amount by viewers also and going by the numbers a second part wasn’t really expected, but since the producers have dared to revive the franchise, they better have something solid on their hands because they have even excluded sex bomb Eva Mendes cause I for one would have gone straight to the theater seeing her name on the cast.

Directed by Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, the story revolves around Johnny Blaze associating with a Monk group to save a boy from the hands of Devil and also get him rid for the curse for once and all. Made on a budget lesser than the previous one reportedly the Ghost Rider 2 was completed with a spent of around $75 million, producer Ashok Amritraj of Hyde Park studios has high expectation from the movie after a strategically planned out promotional marketing. Based on marvel comic character the movie will hit the theaters on 17th February.Awaited by mostly the action flick buffs and hardcore followers of the comic character it will be interesting to see whether the sinking franchise will be revived.
